Our beautiful Louisiana is getting a bad reputation. Hurricane Katrina splashed international perceptions of ineptitude, corruption, and havoc that are still sensationalized by the national media. The 2007 gubernatorial race did not help matters with candidates touting that they would reform “dirty politics”, “improve education” and deter crime as highest priorities – as if all of Louisiana was teetering towards implosion. |
But what is missing from all of this is the fact that there is great news coming out of Louisiana, and specifically the region represented by the I-12 Alliance. For example:

The positives are too numerous to simply list here. Therefore, the I-12 Alliance has decided to announce, to anyone interested in learning, those news items that mainstream media chooses not to promote. Someday, we hope, our successes, triumphs, and economy will be so good it will be impossible to ignore. Each quarter the I-12 Alliance will disseminate a unique newsletter written in part by a regional leader describing the latest wave of negative publicity and contrast it to what is really going on in the area.
