facilities, and a new state-of-the-art technology park are visible -- all capitalizing on the remarkable lifestyle amenities, workforce and business incentives crafted by local and State commitment to its technological advancement infrastructure.
The activities of both NASA facilities expand the imagination. Combined, they directly touch the world’s stargazers by, for example, hosting low-rent, and secluded campuses for companies qualified by the U.S. Space Act, developing and testing actual spacecrafts for planned manned-missions to Mars, and harboring education and training facilities. For those closer to home, the National Center for Advanced Manufacturing (NCAM), backed by an 18 million dollar grant from the State and partners in NASA, Lockheed Martin and the University of New Orleans, trains materials engineers and supports the world’s most sophisticated carbon fiber placement unit. |
