Technology Corridor Target Industries

Louisiana’s Technology Corridor runs through St. Tammany and Washington Parishes and is marked by the Stennis Space Center to the north, Michoud Space Center to the south, and the Technology and Research Park being built by the University of New Orleans.  Because of this strategic location, the corridor provides access to a highly educated and skilled workforce.

Third-party research, conducted in late 2007, determined that the Technology Corridor is incredibly well-suited to attract a variety of technology industries. Isolated as "industry clusters" for the region were: Information technology (particularly supercomputing), advanced materials, geospatial technologies, aerospace, and defense.

As part of this research, the I-12 Alliance, as a whole, was evaluated for target industry determination and because of the of the Technology Corridor's location within the I-12 Alliance, many overlapping and support industries were distinquished.
