Target Industries
In late 2007, St. Tammany Parish, in collaboration with all groups of the I-12 Alliance, embarked in 3rd party research to determine the region and the parish’s primary assets directly related to the community’s place in the global economy and the strategic growth already poised for prosperity. The formal research document can be downloaded here, however in summary, the region as collaborative partners has been determined to be incredibly well suited for companies of the following industries:

International Trade, Logistics & Distribution
The I-12 Corridor Region sits at the nexus of two of the nation’s most important transportation arterials – Interstate 12 and Interstate 55 – and possesses tremendous access to southern and Midwestern populations. The Region’s strong highway infrastructure and market access, combined with the close proximity of two of the nation’s top 7 ports, make it a strategic location for logistics and distribution firms seeking to capitalize on efficiencies.

Energy (Oil & Gas)
Southeastern Louisiana is a long-standing oil and gas powerhouse, with an integrated critical mass of firms facilitating high productivity and profit. Aerospace & Defense Manufacturing
With NASA’s Michoud Assembly Facility and Stennis Space Center continuing to drive demand and provide the knowledge infrastructure for new technologies, the I-12 Corridor Region is a logical choice for aerospace and defense production companies. In addition, the new National Advanced Center for Manufacturing and the Advanced Technology Research Center provide significant infrastructural capacity to support such companies.

Material Supplies
